I just want to point out one more thing, iv noticed in this website having a mpc 1000 is becoming the fashion statementa thease d lol if you check the myspaces lol its the new hot thing for some people to own , alot of kids goals here is to simply put a half made rushed beat on their ipod so there friends can be like wow this beat sounds really GOOD and they go like yea im a producer.. (friends which no nothin about a good hip hop beat so are easly amused) now thats 70% of the people in this forum

But if you really making hot shiit homie and are a real producer, then you would be selling some beats, songs, tracks, etc. then $120 wouldn't even be a thought process. This is a hobbie for me, so i got no fire right now, Ijust spend money making my equipment look pretty. Music is like my girl, and i gotta keep her lookin' tight!!!!

and aknoc beats dosent matter if your sellin tracks and getin cash ,a Real producers got there through stickin through principles settin there priority straight, amongst with tallent ofcourse but real producer principle would be to save that money towards improvin his studio unless your really livin it big through producin. which means ither you made it big or your still on the way and NO LOGICAL producer still on the way to big time workin his ass of would be like ok maybe now i should upgrade to ablue screen even! IF THEY CAN afford it .. know what i mean im just sayin the time il be thinkin about blue screens and black pads is AFTER i got everything eles down not before

i wasn't aware that there were "rules" regarding building a studio. if someone wants to improve their gear cosmetically, then live and let live.

what you are sayin is that customising a pice of gear instead of saving the money to buy a new piece of gear is somewhat taking away their proffessionalism - you ain't gotta fukin clue.

many of us here who are customizin their gear do it because it makes their mpcs individual, gives it an identity, so they can feel it is genulinley theirs. i don't know about anybody else, but since i got my 1k white, i enjoy using my mpc even more because i'm humbled by the fact that its unique and its mine, therefore my work on it has improved, due to the time and dedication i'm puttin into it.

not to mention the fact many people doin this have spent 10's of thousands of dollars on their studios and maybe some feel they don't need anymore gear, they are happy with what they have got - they want to spend whatever money they have making their gear look better, i think its cool as fuk.

Son you got issues. And do your homework...have you ever seen some of the custom MPC's, Mics, synths, Guitars, Drum kits, amp racks, and other gear "Real" artists have.
