Motif

Anyone owns a motif es 6 or better..Your thoughts. I have the option to purchase for $1400

If you can get a motif es for 1400 then get it. THis keyboard is real tight and most people who go out and play one really only scratch the surface of what this keyboard can do. The motif is a strong keyboard for real instrument sounds out the box, but if you dig into the sample rom and really learn about tweaking all the parameters that this keyboard gives you can really make this keyboard even more of a monster. The motif es is the stronges keyboard in seq mode when it comes to effects retain for voices. People dont think about that when they go out and play keyboards they just think about that one sound they play in voice mode then the second voice, but when they get to seq mode they dont know the roland only allows you to use three voices with there insert effects and the triton has 5, but the motif es gives you 8. The motif es is all you will need. Matter fact one romper is all you need, the next thing is to get a good VA board and the fact that the motif Es can house a VA in it buy getting a plg board is hot. I you can install 512 to 1gb of ram for sampling and thats cool cause if you really try to get your money out of this board then do like i did, and find the samples from this or that keyboard in wav. format and load them into the motif and create some new voices...youll just have to set the motif es for auto load for you to get the samples to be add on. You really can do so much with this keyboard, like i said alot of us only scratch the surface when it comes to keyboard and most of us only use them for sounds anyways. 175 mb of wave rom that the motif es comes with i know i will know run out of ways to create a new voice for along time. This board is a classic keyboard. People say it has a small screen and its not color or a touch screen...but it sounds so good who really cares about that. People say its hard to learn but its really not it just takes you time to get use to it.

I got the motif es when it first dropped in sept 03 its tight! I wont need another workstation for a long while! Its a good invest! Try it out for yurself b/c what I might like u might not like! Yes I use my motif es6 to produce hip-hop/r&b! I LOVE the motif es acoustic sounds as well its da sh!t!

I found out a lot about it in the last hr or so, and im really feeling it.. Its more catered from what i see for a computer so i would need to buy that card .(forget the name of it) It seems my MPC would be obsolete along with my jv1080 and planet phatt as Im sure to make all my tracks on this. How do you manage the 2. Thanks

I would still sequence through the MPC and sample your drums from the Motif, Planet Phatt and JV1080 into the MPC. You can also daisy chain your modules so that you have way more sounds than you need, what am I sayin? You never can have enough sounds! Oh Yeah I'll give you $100 for the Planet Phatt. PM me!!!;)

Dude your MP won't be obsolete at all... Sequence on it, and do your drums on the pads still!

man i want a motif in the worst way...i might sell my ms2000r and a mixer and wax to buy one...gotta have it..

~Yamaha s03 has sounds from the motif! Peep it! I think a few peeps on this forum have this keyboard and they love it! Its good for the price now until u get enough to get a motif es6!

The yamaha EX7 was the predecessor to the motif, but the motif perfected it... but if you get a good deal on it then why not?

If I have my mpc hooked up to the motif es through midi how would be able to do regular sequencing by recording sound from the es to the mpc and also be able to control multiple sound moules with ES. Would that be what a daisy chain is used for. How to I do a daisy chain with a mpc, motif es , and two sound modules?
