Do Sandisk Extreme III CF Cards work with the 2KXL?

Hi Guys,

So I've successfully installed a CF reader in my 2KXL (running version 1.20) and have been using a 128MB Sandisk Compact Flash (basic blue & red colored version) formatted to FAT16 for transferring samples from my mac to the MP. Works Great.

Today I bought a 1GB Sandisk Extreme III CF card (Black & Red) on sale, formatted it to FAT16 (after initially inserting it into the MP without formatting and crashing the MP), and it does not work!! The MP simply will not recognize the ATAPI drive in the load/save/format/setup screens when this card is inserted in my CF reader. I get the "No Floppy Device" message.

Has anyone been successful using this card in a 2kXL (version 1.20)? Am I missing something? Or have I just wasted $25 bucks?

sounds to me like the card is un-supported. Does it return to normal functioning when u remove the suspect CF card and put in the 128mb one?

Yes, it does return to normal functioning when I take out the suspect CF and put the other one in, but ONLY after a reboot.
