scsi hd question

i've got a mpc 2000 with a scsi hd.. on the back of the hd is another scsi port .. can i simply put a scsi card into my computer hook that up to the other port on the scsi hd and access my samples off the hd to either cpu or mpc ?

I would not recommend that, peeps seem to be very reluctant to such a setup since it might blow the scsi fuse on your mpc.

Yes but i don't know whether your pc will not mess up the data on the harddisk when trying to read or write on it. Windows is known to be very 'posessive' when it comes to disk access. You can always give it a try but make sure to backup your harddisk b4 doing so, you don't want to loose any songs/samps I guess.

s900 ive done this...i had my LaCIE hard drive paralleled up between my mpc and my pc via an adaptec scsi card...

i had to sample out of my pc into the mpc save that on the hd and then transfer that back to my pc to free up space on the hard drive...i had to do this at least 20-30 times so it worked fine and i didnt have any problems....

You have to be careful eith the scsi connection i.e no wiggling the wire or unplugging while the mpc is on... You can blow the scsi fuse!
