I'd ask in the thread on this page but it's closed and I can't find any other thread regarding this five pages back. Anyway:

So I've been recording my songs using the MAIN OUT feature on the RECORD page by making a sequence through SONG MODE, this is not my issue. Problem is that the file ends up being totally huge (like, 30-40 megs for 4 minutes of music). I doubt myspace would allow my to put songs of that size on their site so I have yet to do that. I'm just curious if anyone knows of a website that will allow me to shrink the size of my songs down without degrading qulity too much. I really like using this method to record as it is cheaper than buying and M Box or anything like that as this is a complete hobby. thank you. heres a beat I made.

when you record your main out and save it to the hard disk or cf it'll be WAV-file... now what you want to do is convert it into mp3. USB-connect your mpc to your pc and take out the wav file including your tune and use Audacity or such program to save as mp3.

great idea, I already have audacity so I'm going to do this right now.

or you could use Windows media player.

just bumping this to say audacity worked like a charm, just remember to download the lame.dll file thats needed to convert to mp3

also VERY easy in iTunes

note, though, that itunes doesn't use LAME to encode mp3s. LAME being the best there is you're audio quality will suffer using itunes. pretty much unnoticeable on a myspace stream though.
