hey whats up ya, well im having midi problems with my mpc 1000, m-audio keystation 61 es, and motif es rack. First i have it going mpc out to motif in and midi controller out to mpc in. When i turn it all on and flip the midi to 1a on the mpc i try to play the motif on my pads and it works fine. Then i try to play it on my controller and it starts acting up changing the voices on the motif holds notes just goes crazy, So i load up a drumkit dosent play that either but everything is fine when i play on the mpc pads. Well after doing this for about 3-5 minutes it decides to work and it does this ALL THE TIME i got to go through it evertime i turn my gear on. Also for some reason when i use the midi controller with logic it works instantly like it would play the instruments and stuff but not with the mpc. Do ya know what can be going on? i tried changing midi cables, changing ports, i also exchanged the midi controller twice same thing. well i hope someone knows whats going on cause im tired of this its been like this for awhile not and remember its everytime.(also i think and almost positive its my 1k because i tried the same setup with a xl and a 2k classic and it dosent do this) ok thanks ya! one love

try to use the keystation connected straight to the Motif and see what it does, make sure both units are sending and receving midi on the same channel, or omni. If that works you the your MPC probably ain't set right

Seriously, I doubt it's your ac adapter or whatever else. Using midi over usb, you're going to have some latency. If you have a usb controller then it is not compatible with the MPC, you have to use it with a daw. You say you have Logic, there you go. Sync the MPC to logic using midi (youre going to need a midi interface) then you should be set. check manuals on midi syncing as some machines only output a certain code.

naw the controller is compatible with mpc i know a few people that have the same exact setup as i do(boon doc) and ive talked to him and he hasnt had this problem nor has other people i know, ive exchanged the controller twice so i really think its the mpc or a controller setting that i cant find(ive read the manuals also i mean i know i got it all hooked up right i just dont know what causes this) but since ive been powering it to the wall instead of my mac its been working flawless no idea if some of ya m-audio keystation 61es owners know whats going on let me know thanks, one love

Hi there,
to avoid midi feedback when you use midi in& out on both your controller keyboard and mpc1k you should turn "midi soft thru" off in midi settings on mpc1k. Midi feedback can often mess up notes and program changes with flipping patches and more weird stuff.
