MPC 1000 midi syncd with the Yamaha MM6

Does anyone have a set up similar, and could give me some tips on how to sync my MPC1K up with my new Yamaha MM6? I know the basics of Midi and have even recorded a sequence from the keyboard to my MPC but when its time to switch to the next track on the MP and the next program on the MM6 something happens and my original sequence is replaced with different sounds from the MM6. look up 'timbre' and 'multi-timbrel' in your MM6 manual.

if the MM6 is not multi-timbrel then that means it can only play one sound at a time. I assume it is though, and you need to look up in the manual how to assign a certain MIDI channel to a particular patch on the MM6.

Then on the MPC you will set a track to that channel and it will correspond to that sound on the MM6.

Or,

you could just record each track as a sample, then move on to the next one and keep your MM6 parts as an audio sample in the sequence rather than as MIDI data.

Man I feel your pain I have the same set up and the same problem. Let me know if you've found a solution, I've looked everywhere and no luck.
