Warpped Wax...

Please I need help any good way to get them back to order? i have about 30 - 40 records of warpped wax that is all dope stuff and need to get it to play with out the crazyness! any help would be appreciated

the urban legend is that if you spin your warped records on your tables outside under the sun on a really hot day... the combination of heat and them being in motion will flatten them out. they need to be spinning though. i have to admit i haven't tried this yet but it does seem to make sense...

Sandwich between 2 pieces of glass and stick it in the oven for a minute... just an idea. I am not responsible for the destruction of either records or oven.

i may do the forman grill though i have some killer BBQ sauce i could use on it!

playing records in direct sunlight spinning or not will warp the ish out of them.

all you have to do is place the record(s) in a tightly packed record box for a week or so. that's it.
they just need even pressure for a period of time.

ill try that over a few weeks and see what the result is thanks beach dude

To be honest I really doubt this will work.

I've had success by leaving the records under sunlight for about 15 minutes and THEN stacking some other records on it.(just make sure you don't put the record in it's cover otherwise you'll have some ringwear on it).

do a search for warped vinyl on here thers some threads i posted up a while ago..... and yes i have tried them and they worked for me. don;t' go by a i heard this i heard that,cause most of the time people don't try it and really don't know how it works.

i mayself have tried it and i got a few methods.

the oven is 1
2 glass pieces is another
and ironing them out works too.

I've heard of the two pieces of glass method before -- but they way I heard it you don't use an oven, you just leave the glass & record sandwich out in the sun. I haven't tried it because the record I wanted to straighten ended up getting straightened out enough to play again (just enough) by storing it mooshed flat in a warm room for an extended time (don't know how long it took just left it there for a few months).

I imagine if you did do the glass sandwich in the sun method you might at least want to cover the labels with something to keep them from fading.

Blimey seems that every forum i go on this comes up.
OK here goes:

Place the record (only 1 at a time) between 2 pieces of glass and warm up in a oven to about 60.c and leave in there for 3 hours, then just turn the oven off and let everything cool down to room temp. Only when the glass is completely cooled should you take the record out.

I've been doing this for years to great effect, sometimes it need repeating for best results.

Also i've tried going higher in temp but with bad results, thats why i recommend 60.c and then a little longer instead of say 100+.c 30mins.
