Right sorry to be a total bastard posting this but i had my blue 1k for about 2 years then i bought a 4k and then decided to sell it to buy a 1k black with new pads. Its good to be back with the simplicity of the 1k.

Anyway i installed the jjos and i need to master reset it. ive turned it on holding erase as i remembered from back along, but that doesnt work, anyone tell me how to do it?

If you got the new pad joint, you should also have AKAI OS v2.11????

don't go back to akai-os, seriously. there is nothing akai can do better. if you don't want to spend any money (you should!) go with 3.08, but not with akai...

1.) That is the correct method to perform a factory default reset.

2.) Factory default reset is there to return all installed OS software parameters to a default state. It does not replace OS software by grabbing Akai V1 (oh wouldn't we just love to play with that dog again) out of some secret memory location. If you want a different OS you will have to install one.

3.) Akai software is a critical bug infested disease. If your work means that little to you, then go ahead and download it from the Akai support page. If you really want to have "fun" be sure to format your MPC drives with it after it's installed so that it gradually corrupts all of your saved hard work and makes it totally useless. Hey, some people are into masochism.

Hope that helps!
