3 weeks ago i bought the Oktava MK319 Large Condenser mic for like 120 with the shockmount, and it is HOT! I love it. it requires phatom power though, so if you dont have a mixer with that, it probably isnt what you want. the $99 behringer studio large condenser mic has a great rep too.
the MK319 has is very quiet (good noise rejection) and very hot (gets a nice loud signal without the vocalist having to get loud on the mic) it also does a good job pickup up the vocs from a distance if you want a roomier feel to them. i havent used it for anyone to rap into, just singing, but its a really great mic with a great transparent sound soo.

It's going for $99 at Guitar Center, so tell those car salesmen over there that you want one at that price.
