help with the product id

on my mpc1000 I have decided to buy OS1 and get off the free one.

I go to [mode] + pad 3 and do not see the product ID - what am I missing?

anyone else have this issue?

there should be a clear "product-id" screen instead of the save screen. can you save your work?
then you're lucky and someone already installed and payed for it.

Just to check...have you installed OS1 yet? Once you've done that, follow the procedure below (from website): -

The purchase procedure of a password

1. Please install JJ OS1 in MPC1000.

2. Please press the [MODE]+PAD3 key and go to a save mode. Please make a note of Product ID currently displayed.

3. Please input into the following form and click "Continue".

4. Please click "Submit", if the contents of an input are checked on the following page.

5 Since e-mail is sent immediately, please access the site specified in e-mail and pay US$39.00.

6. A password is sent within 24 hours after US$39.00 is paid.

You have to use a different (newer) version of the OS where saving is disabled.

i just installed 4.9 and now the ID is there.

so I was wondering - I know you need both os1 and os1 on the mpc but do you need to buy and pay for os1 b4 you have to pay for os2 or can you load os1 and then os2 and pay only for os2 or do you need to buy both?
