Sampling board? You mean the CIRCUIT board!!!!

Or do you mean the sample memory expansion?

the whole sampling circuit board ,whenever i sample sounds into the unit there is hissing and other nasty artifacts inbedded in the sound, sounds like leaking capacitors or other aging electrical parts on the board, the noise is'nt at the source,i think it's time to put the sampling circuit board out to pasture,i have the expanded memory installed also

I agree, take the mem out first and then try it. If it works good without the expanded mem. then thats probably the problem.

I was told that mem. sometimes can go bad. ie If you change the version software of your machine then you should take the mem out first..

Good Luck

Yeah derekdikbag, that would be my suggestion. I had the same problem with my 60. I called Forat and he actually told me to try that. It worked fine. I ended up getting new ram. It was something about me adding the new software without first removing the extra mem that corrupted it. This may be an isolated case but it couldn't hurt to give it a try....

or give Bruce a call yourself, hes a real cool guy....

This may not be the answer, but are you sampling from a stereo source?
Cause if you are, the MPC can only sample in mono. I thought that my MPC had some major problem when I heard distorted sounds like that comin out of my MPC when I sampled anything, or even previewed it. I was tryin to sample from my mini disc player with a stereo cord, and did the same with my PC causing the same problem. Then I hooked then up through my mixer and used only the left channel, and bamn no noise problem solved.
