some of you may remember my post earlier in the week regarding the blue lcd scrren for the mpc1000 going for $65...

if not check this -> http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=97761

So...

turns out the experiment was a total FLOP!!!!!!!

i couldn't get the new blue lcd connected because i couldn't de-solder the IDC connector from the original LCD PCB, i broke the IDC connector in the process thus leaving me with a broken green lcd, and a blue one i couldn't use. in other words, i'm fuked, mpc is out of service, relegated to the past-tense.

but not for long....

Christfutura of needlewerk.com has came to my rescue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

he sympathied with me and agreed to do me a discount on one of his blue lcds if i sent him the lcd i purchased. i will not say how much the discount was for various reasons but let's just say that it was very charitable and considerate. he has pulled me out of a tight spot and i can't thank hime enough. as he is also an mpc1000 user and i suppose he woud'nt like to be stuck without a working machine either! lol. but on to my original point...

his site needlewerk.com is what the mpc1000 customistation communtiy is looking for... considering all the work he has been putting in its definatley worth a visit. stocking blue lcds for the mpc1k and replacement leds of all kinds of colours, not to mention he got at me on the e-mail and is in the final stages of getting the wooden side panels sorted out!!!! i'm sure he will continue to expand as time goes on and who knows what else he could come up with...

so there ya have it. thats just my expirience with christfutura and i thought giving him a mention on here was the least i could do to show my appreciation.

so again CF, thankyou for your help man, that shyt meant alot to me. real talk.

Glad to see Alex come through for you. So far I've been extremely happy with everything I ordered from him. So I got a few more LEDs ordered. Soon every LED in my 1k will be blue. I'm definitely looking forward to the wooden sides. I'm still curious about the metal sides too.

We need to have a "PIMP OUT MY MPC1000" topic in this forum. It would be cool to see pics of everyone's 1k's "before & after" pics.

hipphoppa what can i say? thats a generous offer bruh. but i think i'm gonna stick with the blue one from needlwerk, i prefer that anyway, can't wait till it comes! but cheers.

->le rat

1. i wudn't put christfutura through the hassle of even sourcing me a ribbon cable, as far as i know they are a c*nt to find.

2. i would rather give him the custom and money for the complete lcd screen. he is puttin in work and its only fair to make my contribution.

peace. bruhs.

good work narkotiq, i was thinkin of ordering a blue screen with the same specs from elsewhere, but there's obviously a bit more involved than just throwing it straight into the mpc. Your sacrifice has not only got you a discount on a new screen, it's saved people like me from making the same mistake(coz i was about to!).

no problemo homie.

i sort of think that this expirience was kinda cool in a way, at the end of the day it's no biggie cuz i'm still gonna get my blue screen, but i also have an even bigger appreciation for the mpc1000 community, it just shows that there are cats out there who are really willing to help a guy out.

to be honest i've found myself quite humbled by it all...
