Mute events

Hi all.

I have been recording Mute Events and found that I have Insufficient Memory on 19 tracks at 256 bars. (Built from a few seqs in Song Mode)

Now normally I have about 32 tracks of 256 bars and these tracks have lots of note and CC info. I do tend to find that around this point I have to start bouncing tracks or other space saving techniques.

But on the current sequence I am talking about with the Mute Events I have what I think is actually less info (no CC info at all), except for the Note and Mute Events - so my question, eventually, is;

Do Mute Events tend to take up a lot more memory than other MIDI info? Like historically, on other MPCs.

I don't know for sure, but it seems obvious that a track mute event will take up a minimum of data - similar to a note event.

A track mute event does not erase any data though, so you will still be using seq memory with the muted events still living on that track.

Do you know if you can convert a sequence with track mutes, to a sequence with the track mutes converted in to the midi note data actually being deleted from the sequence.

I don't know. You mean convert a native seq into a .mid file - then back... ? Sounds like a good idea, but if it doesn't work, this would be a job for a software sequencer. I can't imagine the pain of deleting data manually.

That said - I am in the process of porting files over from the 2k - finding myself having to adjust every track and program in the process!
