So I might be getting an MPC2000...

...but the SCSI isnt working. Im getting it for $300 from a friend. How much of a problem do you think this is going to be?

You can get one in perfect working condition for that price unless you are really good with fixing fuses and soldering and I don't mean replace a fuse like a glass one these are completely different.

Wow that is cheap (In the UK here any way) 2000 Classics still fetch a lot of money on ebay here and it's mad cos for not a lot more money you can get the XL.
Not having SCSI is a bit of a s*it though espeacely on the 2K classic because I don't think you can fit an internal ZIP drive on the classic (I might be wrong) so you are limmited to floppy unless you are good with soldering.

im not worrying about floppys. I really dont care but i dont have $300 to buy a new peice right now. If i buy this will i still be able to use it

Oh! Yeah you will be using floppies till you get that SCSI fuse fixed but if the floppy takesa shit atleast you would be able to save & load from Zips.

If you're cool to just use floppies forever, then go for it. I might try to take $50 off the price first, but its still decent. If you use one-shot samples, you'll be good for a while. If you like to use drum loops, that floppy will fill up really fast. Also, you can load up samples from a zip disc faster than floppies. BUT....I think floppies are more reliable than zip discs. Either way, I would still use it over a computer and padkontrol.

$300 for a 2000 with broken scuzzy? I'd buy it just to pound out drums for that price.

i know, i can do everything on it (drums, sampling etc..) just no zip drive or whatever. I really dont think thats my boggest problem right now. the BIGGER problem is that the 1000 guy hasnt emailed me bak yet n shit. also the things $450. i dont have that $$$ right now.

PROTIP- Save your money. If you don't have a job-get one. If you have one-save money. Get $800 together and buy a 1000. Hopefully you won't need us to hold your hand on that one, too.
