Right i been working on a beat today on os 1, anyway as i got a little bit into it i realised i only had 27 seconds of sample time left and had only used like 15.
anyway i understand that its cause i got os 2 installed it limits the sample time? is that correct?
in any case i reinstalled akai os to try and delete os2 as i only been using os1, and even when i got nothing in the memory it says i have 26 seconds of sampletime maximum. i then reinstalled jj os1 to find out i can still use os2 meaning it had not been wiped.
can anyone tell me how to totally delete os2?

No. Every subsequent OS for the 1000 since Akai V1 has traded sample time for enhanced system functions. So if you want the most sample time with the least features load up V1, but don't expect to gain much because the internal sample RAM was never anything more than a tease to get you to buy the memory expansion just like it is with all these boxes.

And no again your crusade to eliminate OS2 will not help either, because the memory location used to store OS2 is not part of the working sample memory and cannot be used for that purpose anyway.

Once you get the memory upgrade, as you posted that you already ordered it, you will have no problems. As far as saving what you have now, just right down any start and end points, or any edits that you may have applied, so that you will be able to reproduce them... I imagine you will be very happy with OS 2. Peace
