has anyone perfectly synced the 1k to protools LE yet?

Why the **** does this happen? Why?

I have a similar set-up (mbox 1, midisport 2x2, G5 iMac, mpc, triton and other modules.) and I have been recording beats like for the last four years that I've been using Pro Tools LE.

First completely sequence your beat in the mpc.

Second save your sequence as a midi file.

Third, import you midi file to track in pro-tools. I'm not sure if you have to, but check the box that says import tempo map from midi file.

Fourth, assign the MIDI tracks' outputs and record track by track.

Basically you make your mpc into a sound module and Pro Tools into your sequencer. Be sure to name your tracks and switch the ones controlling modules to "MIDI" and leave the sample tracks as "drum." By doing this I've never had to trim tracks, start four bars in or anything else but record and mix. Combine this with the grid edit mode and it's the sh__! Not to mention, your midi file is right there which makes the remix a breeze.

eliteist would argue that you would loose the tight timing off the mpc this way.

I have Acid Pro 4 & it syncs perfect w/o having to allow lead-in bars.
It doesn't skip or stutter & I use it on an old p4 cpu w/ 1gb of ddr.
It's mad old, but I have the latest Acid on a 64-bit Vista w/ 4gb of ddr2, & it sucks for any MIDI.
People probably laugh at me for using such old shit.
I have Sonar 7 on my newer cpu, but I use Sonar 2 & the ME plug-ins for mastering my shit.

Here are my settings for my MP you can try in your DAW if having any issues.

MPC
Sync in: 1(Slave)
Mode: MIDI CLOCK
Receive MMC: ON

Sync out: A(Master)
Mode: MIDI TIME CODE
Frame Rate: 25
Send MMC: OFF

Of course you gotta match your DAW to 25 on the frame rate.
The frame rate was the hot point for me.
It works w/ all of them, but could be OK to downright sloppy w/ diff values.
25 is trump tight for Acid. No drops, clips, delays. Perfect.
The Sync out works better for me on MIDI TIME CODE rather than MIDI CLOCK.

Not trying to act like I know everything only trying to help anyone I can.
Guess my main thing is **** w/ your DAW's & MP's frame rates.

i've had a variety of different results using different sequencers, cubase i got working sweet, using the same setup as above. Ableton is my problem child,

this is a reply i got off another forum.

Set ableton to send MMC start/stop to the mpc and set the bpms the same... don't send midi clock/mtc to the mpc. Rock solid tightness abounds.

The only issue i've found with that is that if Live glitches because of cpu/drive whatever, you're mpc will fall out of sync as it's not being sent clock to compensate. Other than that, it's sweet as for sync.
