Assigning samples to midi sequence

Hi there,

My name is Jacob, from Holland and since a while a proud owner of a mpc1000.
Ive updated it with JJ OS 2, but im new with the mpc and i encountered some problems.

My main thing to do with the mpc is doing live acts on party's.
But the tracks we're people know me off, are all made on the pc with renoise.
So i thought ill change those tracks to midi data, so i don't have to re build everthing in the mpc again.
And focus on extending those tracks for maximum freedom during the live act.

But -and here comes my problem/question- how do you assign the samples to the midi channels in a mpc?

allright i now can assign one sound, but this sound is also triggered by other notes of other sample/sound
with other words, i cant assign a second sound.
if i assign a kickdrum all notes play kick

you'll want to create only DRUM pgms for this exercise
set each DRUM program to have a chromatic note assignment - that is 35-98 in GPE.
look at your original RENOISE note assignments and painstakingly assign the samples to the correct note assignments.

transferring these files over will take you a good deal of time and energy but it will help you learn wherebouts on the MPC.

i almost recommend just starting over again.

after a afternoon and evening struggling it is finally started off working as it should

im going for the hard way, starting over again is to much work and to complex to rebuild.

i'd export all my midi sequences/patterns for renoise.

i'll use cubase as an example , just bring them all into cubase, set the software midi channel to send to the mpc's midi in.

you can either mouse over the key in the piano role to get the note number and assign them in the mpc that way, or move the whole row up and down to suit already note assigned mpc sounds.

bit of a fuk around, could even be quicker to tap em out again.
