Recording pad B01, mpc1k trying to play pad C07

I dont know if this has already been posted because the board search doesnt work with me.
I record a sequence. Concretely I record actions to pad B01. I press PLAY, hear nothing. I go to STEP EDIT and notice that instead of pad B01, its referring tp pad C07. [When I record pad B02 it refers to C08.] Its not always like this but I havent figured out yet on what it depends.
Now what is that??
Haha, funny thing is: I cant even change the pad to the desired one in STEP EDIT!

that sounds like a 'back-to-the-shop' job to me...

that rather sounds like getting mixed up between drum tracks and midi track programming?
are your tracks MIDI or DRUM?

Yes, sounds like it. But I dont use MIDI tracks.

Have you attempted to re-assign the pad-note layout?

This is a common issue with MPC1000 owners. It is possible to assign two or more pads to the same note number and under this circumstance, the other pad may show up on the screen and get played back. Yes, this affects drum only tracks.

if i build a program with one of the freeware apps someone here put together (sorry, i cant remember the name at the moment), i get the same exact behavior. i even called akai and they helped me troubleshoot through it.

try building the pgm from scratch, no Mac/PC editor...see if you still get the weirdness.

That cant be a real solution because I use my mpc like it is, I dont use tools at all and still have the problem.

Fine, but I havent ever changed the layout since there is no need when I dont use MIDI. If thats the problem, my mpc changes it itself.

Just reset it for both the program and the master layout to check. I am certain that will fix it. You are more likely to get struck by lightning that for the mpc `to change itself`.
