I got a 1200 that I use quite frequently but I wanted to switch to the 1000 for it's convenient storage, but the sound just isn't the same. I'll sample all the sounds I intend to use into the 1200, record it into pro tools and export everything to the 1000 and it retains everything. I know it sounds asinine as to why it took me forever to figure this out, but if you think about it, you would have a 1200 with as much sample time as you want, or maybe a s900 that you could freak internally with the pads...

really? Does it still sound identical to the sp1200? I was thinking of doing this also.

So what cha sayin'??? After you transfered your SP1200 samples into the MPC1K, they still sounded like the SP1200. Is that a good thing or bad thing for you personally?

this kinda stopped me from buying an mpc 4000 because I can now buy cheap ass obscure samplers and freak 'em like they never have been. between the two, it's indistinguishable.

Just wondering as to why you wouldnt just sample the SP1200 output into the mpc1000 sampler as opposed to making it a wav file on the computer first then exporting to the mpc?
