I suppose I agree... though it is handy to try things out...

just found this website, http://media-convert.com/ , that'll convert between a ton of formats all online

oh, and this spot, http://vixy.net/ , that will rip audio from online youtube videos (flv formats)

arebee, please forgive me ... and I'll forgive the chain restaurants of your namesake

This would be one of the dopest ever features for live work. Basicly the idea is from a hardware device a guy in canberra australia has hand built.

it's Called the sync2. and fvckin nifty if u ask me.

http://home.netspeed.com.au/aistorm/sync2.html

here's an excertp from his site.

The standard application is to sync a software package to a drum machine or "groovebox" using sync². This way the drum machine can keep the beats flowing while you load up the next track and then you are able to start the new track on the computer without the need to stop the clock source but everything remains in perfect sync.

Basicly my vision is that the mpc can have a sort of sync standby mode, were as it will auto start on the first bar when it has been stopped. my setup would be vice versa to the description above, as i would have ableton being the master and be able to stop, load and start the mpc willy nilly with it always being in sync. Im sure some software magic could make this dream come true, basicly all it does is fire off a Play command on the first beat of the incoming midi clock.

some requested additions to the new COPY PAD feature.

1.
when cursor is over PAD column at far left of screen:
performing the copy will COPY ALL parameters from that screen for that pad.

example: on SAMPLE screen, the SAMPLE, CHOP, LEVL, TUNE, PLAY MODE, & VOICE parameters will all be copied at once.

2.
when cursor is over PAD column at far left of screen:
pressing ERASE key will RESET ALL parameters from that screen to default values for that pad.

example: on SAMPLE screen after press ERASE: the SAMPLE = blank, CHOP = --, LEVL = 80, TUNE = +00, etc...

3.
when cursor is over a parameter:
pressing ERASE key will RESET only that parameter to default value for that pad.

example: when TUNE = + 25, put cursor over it and press ERASE. now TUNE = 0.

4.
a way to copy / reset ALL parameters on ALL screens for a pad at once.
maybe use NUMERIC key?

example:
1. put cursor over a pad in PAD column
2. press NUMERIC + ERASE
ALL parameters in ALL screens RESET to default for that pad (SAMPLE, AMP, FILTER, etc...)

and

1. put cursor over a pad in PAD column
2. press NUMERIC + DOWN ARROW key
ALL parameters in ALL screens are COPIED to new pad (SAMPLE, AMP, FILTER, etc...)

This might be in the existing request list, but I was fannying around with a synth patch last night and realised it'd be nice if the aftertouch settings from a pad were carried to all pads in 16 Pad mode. So if I have a synth sound on pad 9 with aftertouch on the filter and I 16 Pad that sound to play a bassline, the aftertouch settings of the master pad should be inherited by all pads until 16 Pad is turned off. As it stands the original pad will retain the aftertouch but the other pads won't (unless it's already set up on them). I don't know if this is true for other pad parameters, I didn't check.

I guess you might want to have those per-pad settings in 16 Pad for some reason, so this'd probably have to be an option as opposed to a change, but it seems to make sense.

when you set LOOP: OFF and MPC reaches end og the sequence it stops. would be nice to have an option where LOOP: OFF means that when end of sequence is reached MPC goes automatically to the next sequnce! in that way you could make fill's and small breakdowns super easy in live situation. imagine that combined with instant sequence change?

I'd really like this;

MIDI - DISPLAY - chase MIDI events on/off

when playing an internal seq , in pgm mode you can edit a pad , scroll through say snares , until you find one that suits.

when playing an external seq ( ie, from cubase ) you can't do this because the mpc chases the midi notes , making it impossible to edit a pad

It would be awesome to be able to switch this display on and off

what do you guys think ?

I'd like to see number sorted in a more coherent way. for instance when recording stuff in audio track take121 is before take22.

hi,

few live help features ..

1/ i would love to have LOOP (loop sequence FROM-TO measure) editable during the playback - as i am playing live - this will help me a lot to simulate something like patterns ... for example to LOOP measures 1-8 with start of the song, 9-16 with the main theme etc ... i really miss that ..

2/ another great feature would be to be able to control muted tracks in simultaneous sequence (to be able to display simultaneous playing sequence and mute tracks in there).. with this the sequencer will be a killer! - u can mix two sequences together with no limitation..

u do a good job.)

This may sound dumb for alot of you, but I would like to see more Tempo Decimals.

This means that when I chop up a for example a soul sample to every kick, hi-hat and snare of the original song, the tempo can varie a-lot when I finally get it in the right position I want, more decimals would make the tempo-setting even better and more accurate.

2 decimals would be accurate enough, 3 would be plenty.

Is this even possible with the sample engine of 1k/2.5?

Thx

arebee wrote:i've seen/heard a few comments on the lack of multi timbral midi in response in the mpc1000.

and for days where im mostly running DP, and the mpc's feeling left out......

it would be nice if JJ could create a midi-in matrix that would give us the ability to play the mpc like a multi timbral sampler.

if the mpc's tracks' midi out setting.... "MIDI:1A (.....16B)" would become the midi-in channel under a given setup,
say an extra option in the "mode+pad9", something that would change the tracks' midi-out channel into midi in connections.

so, the existing "Active track receive channel :ALL" would be modified to include ":TRACK", using the channel set in the tracks' own "MIDI:#" field, and this would keep the active track in a kind of 'local' midi mode too.

yes please!!! this would be awesome!

I dunno if this has been mentioned before but....After looking at the MPC 5000 I was impressed with the fact that the track mixer can record manipulation of levels and pans...I think this would be an amazing feature if we could do recordable pans and levels with the track mixer in OS2...

isn't it already possible in akai os 2.10? If i remember in mixer mode you have the option to record mix changes.
