Hey

I don't know if this feature exists in os2, but it would be interesting to know the number of voices in use during playback of a song. It may be that some sounds are excluded which you dont catch/notice at first.

How do you deal with the polyphony limit? I havent maxed out yet but I assume I would save a track/sequence as a single sample and then load just load that sample in a track. The risk there is of course that I will run out of memory. Any other ideas?

UNder global there ia apparently a voice counter where you can see if you max out the voices. Haven't tried it yet tho.

As for saving voices, i'd go with my original solution to save tracks as samples themselves - unless someone has a better idea

I used that voice counter like everytime, because I always ran out of polyphony when i 1st got the 1k.
afterwhile you will get used to where you are out, but it is a great feature.

you can convert any stereo samples that don't need to be stereo to mono ,
that'll save polyphony - stereo samples take up 2 voices

also make sure that your samples aren't any longer than they need to be , chop off any excess tails ( ie ; ride cymbals , etc... ) - it all helps...

and set them to 'mono'. i do this all the time, hardly ever need sample to play poly.
