need help with my mpc/midi/reason/interface

hey guys, new to the forum. i just copped my mpc 2500xl three weeks ago and have been playing around with it since, havent made any complete beats but sort of got the jist of it. right now, my mpc is hooked into the soundcard of my computer using a 1/8th to 1/4th wire. this seems like the only way i could be able to hear it through my computer speakers (i can only hear from the left side). i also have an M-Audio Axiom 49 midi keyboard and an M-Audio Fast Track USB. my question is, how do i put all of this together? i installed the driver for the fast track but it doesn't seem to work because every time i plug it in, i could never hear sounds from my computer. what i want to do is hook my MPC up to the interface so i could hear it from both side of the speakers, hook my keyboard into the MPC and use Reason as a sound module. as of now, the only cords i have is the 1/8th to 1/4th and one midi cable which i hooked from my midi controller into my MPC. so on top of that, what other cords would i need to make everything function? any help would be greatly appreciated. gracias

You need a midi to usb cable. That way you have your controller going to the MPC with regular midi cables, and the MPC connected to the computer with the midi to usb cable.

for sure. i copped the midi to usb cord and everything is working right. i decided to return the m-box because it wasn't doing shit so for now i'm still having trouble hearing out of the right side of my speakers. does anyone know the cause of this problem?

how do you have you speakers setup exactly, like what cables do you have running from the mixer or soundcard to both speakers?

right now, i don't have a mixer. all i'm using is a 1/8th to 1/4th that connects directly from my mpc into the blue port of my integrated soundcard.

ok i copped my mixer plus a turntable today. i'm still having trouble hearing the sound from my right side. i have my mixer plugged into the blue port of my soundcard using an RC to 1/4th. can anyone help me out here?

are you running a stereo or mono 1\8 to 1\4 cable? it just sounds to me like you have a mono cable

it's a mono. so it should definitely work if i got a stereo cable?
