MPC 1000 w/ effects

I just bought a kaoss pad 3. Im not sure how to hook it up with my 1000. I have the midi cables and everything and I've tried to use the owner's manual but still cant seem to get it working right. Can anybody help me out?

MIDI Outs -> MIDI Ins

If you just want fx on your Main outs... then Main Outs -> KP3 Line In...

Or you could create an fx loop with 1/2 or 3/4 -> KP3 Line In... KP3 Out to MPC In...

Depends on what you're trying to do and record though.

Right now I have the cable running from my midi-out on the mpc to the midi-in on the kaoss pad, but no sound is going through and I don't quite now how to configure the whole thing.

MIDI stands 'Musical Instrument Digital Interface'.

Your MIDI cable transmits data between equipment with MIDI capabilities.

Things like, tempo, note on/off, etc etc, all the general MIDI data.

It DOES NOT transmit audio.


you need to read up a bit before you keep goin.

i can believe you bought a kaoss pad and don't know that! sorry, don't mean
to be an ****... but that's a pretty pricey bit of gear!

It sure is. But yeah I just figured I'd dive into it. I'll pick it up as I go.
