quick cf drive power cord question

ok, so i jus bought my 2kxl and im tryin 2 upgrade the to the cf card drive, from what ive been reading else where the drive needs a special power cable? i was wondering if this is true if anybody knows what kind exactly becuz mpcstuff sells a "kit" for like 150 yet i keep finding cf drives for like 17 bucks anybody know anything on this?

i think mpc stuff has a tutorial vid on youtube for installing the cf drive into an xl (sorry cant find the link, cant get on youtube at work) try and hunt that down im sure that will answer your questions.

Please share with us all where you can get a CF drive that will work in your XL for $17.00.

As for the power cable, if the CF drive needs a molex HD type connector, just buy one at any computer shop, cut the end off your floppy power cable and wire the 5 volt/ground wires from the molex connector onto it. These are usually red (5 volt) and black (ground).

my bad for sendin yall off.... the cf drives that are cheap have a usb 2 motherboard connection instead of atapi / ide.....guess ill be paying that 125...... NEWAYS does anybody kno how i can make my pads more sensitive on the xl???
