Can you imagine where we would be now if the pioneers *only* had 16MB to work with?!?
Peace,

i think i half agree with both of yall. i think having 128 to work with can be quite crazy but i find it helpful ex. im recording a track right now that one of the samples im manipulating the vinyl live and its nice to have that space because i can record several takes then edit them down and cut it so i have the best performance out of those ones. now i could easily do this in my DAW but i like working with my MPC. and if i had such few ram to work with. i would constantly have to record the phrase then edit it immedatily then record the next phrase and edit that immediatly. where as i can edit them all at the same time. and piece it together at the same time as well.
on the other hand i can see where it can get out of hand. the less the ram the smarter one can think where as the more ram available the more one can get lazier.
and yes there are still great hits coming out on older gear.
aesop rock - none shall pass most tracks by blockhead who does all of his work on an asr-10 BUT he does still import to protools.
