it's a tip of the hat purchase, a "thank you" for a fantastic program. "uncrippled" means that they don't make the demo just a "tease" of the full program. all features are there in full in Reaper's demo the second you download it.

brazeca: i use the 1k w/ jjos, which sends MTC. however, though i haven't used it, REAPER allows for syncing to midi clock too (less solid). i chill in here sometimes because i like you nerds.

but I do keep Pro Tools on the pc as well just for bouncing to the main studio I go to

I just got home from work so Im going to download Reaper... See if I like it because I already have a friend with Cubase. I have used Cubase a bit and I like the way it works.

So far its got alot of stuff on it... Now I just need to sync my MPC and that will seal the deal.

Reaper does look like a slick piece of software for the money. I would go as far as to say it appears to be a more rounded and bubbly looking version of Cubase!

Full VST support is a major winner too!

I cant seem to sync my MPC to it though... Been trying for the last 15 minutes...

In that case try and use the two seperately until you find your feet with Reaper...

I like having my MPC totally seperate from the PC, but that is not what you're trying to achieve. Good luck!

I work with it seperately also but Im looking to record whats in my MPC to Reaper now... The only reason why I want to have them synced is because it allows me more options this way... As far as cutting off certian sounds when I want to (according to lyrics)...

The term "synchronisation" can be used quite loosely for what this guy is doing between his MP and Cubase. I basically do the same but don't end up with 8 bars of dead audio at the start of all my tracks!!!

I just record my parts into Cubase in 'freehand' (hitting record on Cubase, then play on the MP), then trim my audio down after.

I'm sure you want to achieve more than what this fella is doing.

Oh of course dude... Im just linking that video cuz thats what comes up first when I put in sync and MPC for youtube... And you can also record multiple tracks depending on your audio interface.

But the main reason why I want to sync is so that I can bang out a beat on the MPC then record it to the DAW save it.... And adjust the drums or actuall beat the lyrics once they are added.

But Id like to record my stuff just the way you mentioned or just record it all after im done with the actuall beat.

That guy is doing it in a very slow way.... Track by track is very slow... He could of either recorded all the tracks at once or done it the way you do.

I like to keep everything seperate if possible as I can then mess around with eq and compression etc...

You haven't mentioned this already, but can you record audio direct from your MP into Reaper? Have you worked this out yet??

Yeah thats easy... But then the BPM is off tempo from the MPC to Reaper even if a set them to the same tempo.... Cuz I gotta hit play and record at the same time and its always off time by a second or milli second or something.

This only works good if both DAW and MPC are synced together.

I'm sure there is an easy enough solution to this...

So presumably you want to complete your projects in the computer? Or maybe you want to bounce between that and the MPC in sync?

A friend of mine who's a dj and a whizzkid provides me the stuff I need for free. He know where to find hacked versions of everything. For pc. Mac is whole other type of ball game, cuz for mac it's hard to find hacked DAW versions.

At the moment playing around with Cubase 4.0 Like it so far because of the easy interface. It looks real logic and natural to me.
