Audio/ MIDI Interface Question?

What is the best audio/ MIDI interface I can purchase for a good price?

Is it true that not all MIDI interfaces can syncronize???

Thanks for any help because I been looking into an Audio/ MIDI interface to purchase in the future or have my girlfriend buy it for me. LMAO

I got Vista also so that makes it harder for me to chose an interface. =\

Get the PCI one, whatever you do don't go USB. There's drivers for Vista on both most likely, but yea, between these two the 192 for sure. There might be something better out there though, keep looking.

Yeah the thing is that there aint much that can work with Vista. =/

For example I was really looking to get a E-Mu interface but they dont have drivers out for Vista.

A good look would be to go for a m-audio delta 1010 (excluding the LT).

You'll be able to run almost any daw program you want with it (including pro tools).

It's got decent ad/da conversion and midi I/O for whatever. And yes, it's pci if that's of any concern.

Was thinking about it but the desktop was a gift from my girl for x mas and Id rather not spend money for an XP OS.

Plus Microsoft just announced that they are done with XP.

Thanks for the info. Will look into it but it looks like M-Audio is my best bet cuz they work with every DAW and they work with Vista.

I do this all the time when re doing hard drives. I have Ghost copies of my pc and laptop so I can ALWAYS and at ANYTIME return back to how my machines used to be when I initially Ghosted them.

Backups, backups, backups, before ANY major changes.

I was going to split my hardrive in half...

One half XP and the other Vista. =)

You could also do that, AND then do ghost on both partitions just to be safe on both os's.

Or you could just get a new hard drive, they're pretty cheap: 50 bucks can get you 250GB.
Vista ain't that bad, unless you are recording some live stuff. For example MIDI keyboard with some VST's.
You do have an MPC so I don't think you are gonna do much of recording MIDI live, anyway.
