converting akai mpc 2500 files to mpc 4000

i have a mpc 2500 that i have been using for the past while. i recently acquired a mpc 4000 an i want to convert my files to work on the mpc 4000 but can'y get the program files to load and the sequence files. is there any type of conversion tools or any way to get this to work?

if you can save your 2500 sounds as WAV's that would be a good starter

all my sounds are in wav format. but i'm not being able to load the .pgm and s.seq files. do you know how to do this.

I believe that the MPC 2500 came out AFTER the last MPC 4000 update. So unless you can talk Akai into providing an update
to the MPC 4000, you won't be able to load .pgm files and .seq files into the MPC 4000 from the MPC 2500.

You could convert your .seq files into .mid files on the MPC 2500 (I believe it can do it, you'd have to check the manual)
and then you could load up your sequences on any sequencer that loaded up Standard Midi files. The MPC 4000 or Cubase,
or Logic or whatever.

It's generally better to save file your sequences in Standard Midi format, so your not stuck with a proprietary format.

As for your .pgm files, your going to have recreate them from scratch.. As notes above, the 2500 came out after the last
MPC 4000 update, so there is no way that the 4000 could know how to load your programs.

If you know of some Sampler Conversion program that the will translate the 2500 program to another format, then you
could load that into the 4000 if it's one of the formats that the 4000 supports:

So if CDExtract or Translator or something like that supports the MPC 2500, you can then use that to convert it to Z8 and
load it in.
