Need help installing akasys and usb XP

Everytime i hook up the mpc to the pc via usb my mpc wont detect the hardware. I already installed akasys, but it wont detect the hardware usb connection. Ive got those inf and .sys files but i dont know what to do with it. Can someone please help me out with this????? There is no additional info on the akai website

Whats up mo! Have you downloaded the drivers....also click on my computer and go to control panel and from there click on add hardware and it should detect it...........get back at me and let me know what happen.

I would uninstall everything (Aksys and driver), shut down your computer, connect the MPC to another USB port, with another USB cable, (make sure its an USB 1 cable) fire up Windows/OSx and see what happens..

If the new hardware wizard shows up, you need to select 'manually search for drivers' (or something like that, its the second option) and then refer to the folder where youve putted the MPC driver (inf), double click it and wait a few moments, agree to everything and restart your comp. Install Aksys and see how things work..

Thanx poeple, it turned out that i had a incompetible usb-cable

weird, but problem is solved

Weird yes but, not uncommon, the MPC is very picky about USB cables for some reason.
