Reviews and questions about the entry-level MPC500

What up fellas...thinking of starting a lil internet business and need to know how much you guys would pay for a custom leather sleeve to protect your 500.

What colors would you prefer?

I'm thinking of course the standard colors like black, blue, gray, red, white, yellow, and also a few limited edition type of patterns.

Give me some ideas and I'll work it ... I'll keep it cheap as possible to make a fair profit while not robbing you guys once I find out my operating costs.

I have seemstress making me a prototype right now and once I get it I'll post a pic.

Oh yeah zip or velcro to keep it closed??

Hmmm... I already have a sweet case for my MPC500 but I would love to see what your idea looks like.

I think zipper would be better.

Post a pic of the product and see if you get any good replies. Then you will know if you will make a profit on this.
:D

I would definately buy one if it was made out of that neoprene stuff that people are carrying their macbooks around in. I will wait and see what the prototype looks like, but its a decent idea! I would definately prefer a chunky zipper to velcro.

I was thinking leather would last as long as cut right...the neoprene would certainly be cheaper and easier to have made in bulk but leather would look nicer...I have a lot to consider and will keep you guys posted...thanks for the feedback!

I'm sorry I forgot to mention this sleeve would have all the openings required to play your mpc without taking it out of the sleeve. It would have a openings for all the ports, the buttons, slider, and screen etc...not a carrying case but a functional sleeve to protect it while you play it.

can you make it like one of those rubber gameboy sleeves? that wuld be phat. i mean either way if you can make a sleeve that can protect the mpc that looks halfway decent i wuldn't mind paying 20 bucks for it. but it has to be durable.

I'd rather it were more like a carrying case with an option of converting it into the protective sleeve for live-playing (or vice-versa). BTW, the whole idea is great! Since it's highly portable, it kinda needs to be extra protected. I won't mind paying 20-30 bucks for such a sleeve (provided the quality is high and materials used for it are durable and long-lasting).

Personally I would buy a carry case type thing, but not a permanent sleeve. Not saying its a bad idea, but i know im not going to drop my mpc or whatever, the case would be just for when its in my bag etc.

If you do Neoprene Inside and leather outside, I'll be down.

Right now I got a beautiful Neoprene Case-Logic 10" Case with handles. It fits the MPC500 well and also has storage pockets for CF cards and Headphones.

This sounds good.

I'd get one if you had some crazy colours / patterns, just would make it fun haha.

I'm not sure about the idea of being able to play it from the case, I'd prefer one just for carrying.
Also if you provided a place to store the cables that would be super handy as well, but not that necessary I suppose?

No matter what you got a gem.

I like the leather idea, if you could give it 2 snaps...like on jean buttons on the left or right side. Reason being is zippers have a way of being stubborn and skipping tracks and all. The velcro would, I think be better than the zipper since one would be able to close it like a TRAPPER KEEPER. Also why not incorperate the handel idea as well.

Imagine I mailed you a package
the item was shipped in a box with the same specs as the 500
This box had a handle made into it that was part of the second flap you opened to get the item I shipped to you out.
"MAKE SENSE"
Don't think of it as a long strapy thing but more like a 2 piece leather strap that you could fit your hand under.

Although I own a 1K It would make a dope gift for my brother. Then we could work on the 1K model.

Keep Pushin, thats how styleFlip started im sure.

been outta town fellas sorry for not replying to the recent threads, of course I cant spread myself too thin so wait until you see my original idea and we'll mod from there if cost effective and practical...picture coming in a few weeks. Maybe the original idea plus a flap to go over the top to protect...almost a merge of both ideas as a practical/protective solution

personally I wouldn't use a leather sleeve, not sayin it's a bad idea...

I wish someone would come up with a desktop prop of some sort, something that would tilt the mpc forward say like 30 or 35 degrees (even make it adjustable) ... I'd buy that!

Oh yea make it out of like steel so it's a bit on the heavier side but not bulky, rubber feet so when your hitting pads it don't move... A stable prop... yuh... that would be tight
