Great news about the multimode filter. Now we can pretty much mix properly within the MPC500 itself. Trimming any low frequencies from samples that don't need it and so on.

Surprised there were so many bugs fixed. If anything, I may have only encountered one of those.

i was so hoping the having-to-physically-unplug-the-USB-cable-to-dismount issue would be fixed in the update

still: Bravo for this Akai !

Agreed about the USB! Overall I'm still lovin it!

Just updated. No problems so far. Any word on the saving / loading bugs and if they're truly fixed? Can I write over entire projects now without creating brand new folders?

Can someone check help me:
I cant get the Q-Link slider to do anything to the sound on playback of a sequence. If i hit the pad its assigned to and wiggle it there is a change in the sound, however if I wiggle it during playback of a sequence containing that pad, there is no difference in the sound (not in recording mode). After is turned off.

In the manual it says:
during play, with the after button off "if you move the qlink slider while playing back a sequence with note variation, the recorded pads sound will be changed."
I dont know what it means by note variation, but it doesnt do anything.

Is this an o/s bug, has it never worked, or have i got my wires crossed?

This is a great update. The addition of the high bass and band pass filter is excellent.

If you go into "Other" you can also enter a name for the MPC's owner, which will be displayed whenever you turn it in. Not sure how useful that is, but it's yet another added feature.

What exactly is Chop Shop? I got my MPC two weeks ago so I'm a bit of a newbie.

I'm new to the MPC500, but have read much in the forum relating to O/S. I have checked my O/S and it is still 1.11. Reading the release notes, it gives details about the 1.12 and 1.13 fixed bugs and new / changed features. Will I have to update with these to take advantage of these fixed bugs / changed features ? Or does 1.30 include them ?

Nah - Just load up 1.30 straight from 1.11 and you are good to go...
