OK so heres the deal. I recently bough an 80 gig hardrive for my MPC and installed it beautifully. I am in the process of loading it with shitloads of samples I have collected over the years. 1 thing I have noticed is that a lot of the program files will not load!!! Like I have tons of drum kits and they are all saved basically in their own folders and I wanna be able to load up the program file and have all the samples load up everytime I go to load a program file I'm getting the 'wrong file" error message. Whats the deal with this? I mean some of these programs are bought and they wont even load up. Anyone know of any fixes for this? Now I know the 2500 wont load up certain files from other MPC's but I mean shouldnt a program file be the same across the board? Like say I saved a program on my 1000 does this mean my 2500 wont read it? Also, the samples all play from the preview screen and load up its strictly the program files I am having a problem with. Also, any program I have saved in my project file loads up fine, just the stuff i have transferred over to my HD wont seem to load program files only. This kinda blows. Any fixes? updates? work arounds?

ok so i think i figured out what was wrong. the programs that i had bought years ago for my mpc1000 were actually the only ones that wouldnt load and i got those sounds before the 2500 had even been invented so i'm guessing it just oculdnt read the file. i basically had to just re-build all my programs and re-save and that seemed to fix it. i havent really came across any other programs out of the hundreds i have DL'd or made myself so i'm guessing i'm good. it just wouldnt read the programs created for the 1000. now another problem is a lot of my samples have more than 16 characters so i will eventually have to fix those up which seems like a tedious task in itself. does the jj os allow files with more than 16 characters? or is that just something that will never happen. i dont jj os yet still cause i am fine without it for now....
