Ever take your 4k on a trip?

Im about to go to san diego for a minute, i wanna bring the beats. im guessin this is too big to carry on?

i gotta flight case too but **** are charging 50 for more than one check in!

gimme yall experience on this!

Yep ... done NY, Montreal, London, Iceland ... number of times ... had it in a suitcase a few times... the lcd got cranked once due to that, had to replace it, but my 4k is still going strong (its actually hard to belive compared to the hardcore treatmet it has had ... make sure if you travel you have it in a flight case .. even though its like a tank and will sustain anything ... you´re better safe than sorry...

tru, im going to get extra foam for it this week cause i leave on friday, but i just wanted to see if there were any horror stories out there.

When I went from Amsterdam to NY.
Had my 4k in flightcase.
They handled the case so rough that my sidepanel (of the mpc) almost broke off.
Got it fixed and now I'm happy again.
Just make sure that you check it in as special luggage.
Cause when you check it in normally, they will handle it as normal luggage and that's something you don't want.

Your other option is to get the $400 plus MPC 4000 backpack thing that Zombie Nation uses and sells.
I believe that he indicates he takes the 4000 on as carryon luggage.

I couldn't justify the $400 for it, but with the costs of Airline luggage and baggage now, on a long trip, you might
end up giving $400 to the airline, so if it could be brought on as carry on, I could see it being cheaper. But whether
it would fit in the overhead compartments or under the seat is yet to be seen

4000 doesnt fit most if not all airway carry on dimensions. if its more than the carryon requirements you have to buy another ticket for a seat. sucks!

there's no such thing as 'special luggage' anymore, despite what airlines say. Ryanair in Europe have a 'musical instrument' baggage charge of €30 per piece, they claim it gets special treatment as it goes in with the buggies and wheelchairs after all the regular luggage is on board. That means it comes out first, which should be a good thing, but if you ever fly to Schonefeld in Berlin you have a picture window of the plane you came off while waiting at passport control and you can watch the baggage handlers drop-kick your MPC, Jazzmaster and whatever else you thought was getting special treatment out of the plane onto the tarmac. A flight case is just an incentive for them to be rougher with it

imma foam the shit out of my mp then put it in the case. knowing tsa, they would take out all of the foam and **** with it. hopefully the mpc gods will watch over it.

also, remember the sniffer dogs love urinating on electronic equipment when they're checking it over

Get a used 1000 for $500 and save the headache and stress...

i took the 4k here to san diego, its fine so im makin beats in the telly. im convinced it will be fine but i want a higher grade road case

Mine works fine but if you had a faulty one they are around..

I just carry on as hand baggage with a gator soft case. If anyone drops it its me and I can deal with that.

i really wouldn't check it into the baggage hold unless it was in a true metal and wood flightcase and even then.... also those cases are really too heavy to carry with a 4k inside. no roadies in my world!

its a few cm too big in only one dimension. theoretically they could stop me taking it on but I never had a problem yet. Its heavy as well but easyjet don't have a carry on wieght restriction which is cool. just don't try it with lufthanser

but I am in euroland and i guess its all different in the US - as terrorists are well known for their interest in heavy MPC type beats
