MODE + PAD8 [OTHER], then scroll wheel to the penultimate option.

How does the 'track default name' work? I'm not sure wether it's a new feature but I can't find it from the manual.

Hey. When you load samples and go back to load a new sample you dont have to start from the beginning no more! This is major!

has it fixed the system errors when creating new folders, the random corruptions when saving and the midi data mangling when coverting song>sequence?
i gave up on my 500 last month when i repeatedly suffered data loss from the above.
bought a 1000 and jj os1 and made it through my gig this weekend.

Hmmm, SONG MODE is still buggy as hell. Regarding the last bug fix mentioned in the PDF:

Fixed bug where repeat times could not be set to "0" in Song Mode. Now, setting "0" on step 1
will loop step 1. Setting "0' to steps 2+ will skip selected step.

A first glance I thought they'd fixed the 'insert before' bug, but they haven't.

Basically if you insert a step anywhere using 'insert before' it sets the 'repeats' for step 1 to 0. Before the update, it remained stuck at '0', so that bit is fixed (i.e. you can change it back to the original repeat required), but still, why is it changing the repeats for step 1 in the first place?

Yeah, the filter bug is ridiculous. What's the point even including highpass and bandpass filters if the settings can't even be saved? Lets hope they fix this asap.

man lets not hate so much, just for the fact that akai took these steps im grateful for, and theyre not dumb enough with bad customer service to leave an error like not being able to save filter settings. im happy enough that they took these steps, of course i'll be perfectly happy once they fix the error too. lol
to me, just the upgrade of more filters and being able to load samples without having to start from the beginning each time is huge. i wont be as hesitant to load sounds anymore knowing i wont get lost starting all over from the list. cant wait till they fix the filters error of not saving either. hopefully they add 1 or 2 more upgrades too; like it would b awesome if we can substitute the old "F#" buttons on the other mpcs into this one, like holding shift and pressing pad 11 for mute, and shift+pad12 is solo etc. ...but i guess thats for the wishlist thread huh....
