Step edit os2

right i been using os1 of the jjos and been working well, anyway looked in going to os2 mainly for the better way it records live.
Anyway the step edit on jjos1 is good, if i switch the tc to 16-3 it changes the ammount of blocks in the step edit however i switched to 16-3 in jjos2 and ijust stayed as four blocks per bar, is there anyway in os2?

yeah had trouble wording this.
you know when you press mode pad 15 it brings up the little step increments, grid edit or whatever? yes? anyway way i change the timing correction in os1 it changes the amount of increments per bar, however on os2 it doesnt!

the title of this thread was meant to be grip edit not step edit! but if anyone can help me would be great

oh, zooming increments. no, in os2 the zoom is static.
the reason for this is because in os1, when you turned TC to 1/32 or TC off, the grid would ZOOM as well. this essentially makes grid editing at high TC values useless because it's far too zoomed in to be able to view anything below such a high resolution.

in os2, zoom and TC is detached. this is great for being able to use GRID EDIT without TC, but makes visual editing more difficult on the small scale.

for this reason, Midi Grid Edit (ie, Grid edit when your track is in MIDI mode) is far superior, because it's essentially the best of both worlds. you can zoom in and out independently of TC. also, you can EDIT individual recorded notes, like you can in 6grid edit. i invariably sequence in midi grid edit, even (especially) my drums.

Grid Edit would be far superior if it behaved like Midi Grid Edit, where Time Correct and Zoom are wholly separate.
