okay, don't really understand midi but grasp it.
I'm trying to use my motif 6 (classic) for the recording (don't really get the mpc yet).
I would like to record a sound from the mpc 2500 into the motif but Don't know the set up. Ex..do I use the time code??

Anyway, thanks but one more..

I'm trying to learn my mpc 2500 but 4 some reason the sample...ahh I don't know just get confused....this mpc is different from my motif but I want to learn...

After I sample a sound into my mpc and cut it up on the 16 squaeres my timing is always off and it doesn't have anything to do with the quantise..(it's like I'm missing something)..I sample a sound and if I put it on 1 bar lets say at 90(runrate) press play, okay it gives that sample straight..but if I move the 90 to 92 the sample goes faster..don't understand...

Do you know anything about fruitty loops?

Thanks

No, I want it to stay the same pace..whether it's 90 or 100

And why?

When you chop it into 16 pieces and put it on 16 pads, then it will always follow the tempo. That's the whole point in doing that. If you don't want it to change tempo, then don't chop it and just trigger it at the beginning of the sequence. But then it won't loop correctly anymore at another tempo.

to do what you want on the mpc2500 convert your chops not to sliced samples but to patched phrase (turn the data wheel in the appropriate screen - warning! this will turn stereo samples to mono!). patched phrase samples follow tempo changes without pitch change - if this is not what you want explain your goals in other terms...
otherwise read what stilo said...
