is $1500 for an mpc "4000" to much?

is $1500 for an mpc "4000" to much? it doesnt have the extra outs or digital outs and has a cdplayer but that looks like it this is not the mpc4000 plus and what is the difference between the mpc4000plus and the mpc4000?? i need answers asap cause i might make this buy...please hurry need to know now

The only difference between a plus & regular 4k is the digital I/O w/ word clock & eighty gig HD comes standard on the plus.

And the same options can be put on a standard 4k as well. $1500 for a decent 4k is about the going rate.

last question should i bother sense 4k has all these os bugs?

There's nothing wrong with the 4k that would hender one from laying his/her ideas. This crazy bug infested stuff is only a cop out for those that don't fully understand this wonderful machine.

Of course when it had o.s. 1.40 or something, it had it's share of problems. Now on the other hand, check out the 5k, it's riddled with bugs as one would expect coming from a new product like that.

I've been using a 4k for about four years and it has worked exceptionally well for me during that course of time.

what do u mean 1500 for a decent 4k..1500 for a 4k is normal for a used sampler? this sampler i want is used and at a pawn shop should i barter and get it cheaper? its missing the cable to jack it in the wall and doesnt come with the box and has no manual..what should i do not bother with it? is it outdated and can i still get upgrades later on for it?

I usually term decent as not being "beat up". And if you can snag it for a few bucks less, then by all means go for it.

Plus the power cord is a standard pc power cable. I'd take one with me (power cable) just in case, so I'd be able to check it out and make sure it turns on & doesn't sport any problems.

Finally, if it has os 1.71...this is the last update for the 4k (just visit akai's website for the update if it isn't).

Dabmeister is right it is up to you the user. Once you get a hang of it you can do as you wish. You know if you play around with several different mpc models on your own 1k, 3k, 25k, 5k and 4k, you wouldn`t have to be so worried asking 4k owners if you should buy a machine which the remaining 4k users still own and haven`t sold ever. Think about it.

ya $1500. is to much for an mpc4000 so i paid $1200. for it instead i love this machine thanks guys for the help

Question for naug & dutch, did your machines come with any options ie: adat I/O, 8 outs, wordclock/spdif I/O?

No but I missed one with 8outs by one day for the same price.

$1500 is a good price. eBayer has them for more. They are becoming more popular because they don't make them anymore, plus the MPC 5000 flop! I paid $1500 for mine, 3 years ago and I'm saving up to buy another one! I don't care what it will cost! Have you used any other MPC? If you have, you'll appreciate the difference! I love my 4K. But, I love my 3K, too. You won' t be disappointed!
