in need of a few recomendations

at the moment, ive been sampling drums off fl studio (as ive preloaded it like mad off my laptop) as i have no scsi port on my laptop, ive also been sampling of youtube, does anyone have any good recomendations on hat to look for?

ONDA REAL, LISTEN TO CLASSIC ROCK OR EXOTIC PERCUSSION.... HAVE TO REALLY LISTEN FOR DRUMMERS & HOW THEY ROLL DEM STICKS.......... JUS A OL SKOOL THOUGHT OF MIND

how about actual songs? on limewire i found this 1950s french tv theme which had a nice ring to it,sampled it on the mpc 3000 and it was pretty nice, if i find the sample again (and once of gotten more into my mpc:P) im gunna remake it

go buy some ultimate breaks & beats album or do an intelligent search on google for lists of more classic drum breaks, and then seek these how u will (i can't tell u to buy the vinyl)

Just start from here and do some research on some breaks.



I see your in Bristol and i've never been. I bet there definetly is a at least a record shop in Bristol somewhere.

Check out Ultimate Breaks, Dusty Fingers, etc and check out notes on your fave hip-hop albums because they sometimes give sample names.

And check out reissues as well. There's some snobby gits in here who'd put there nose up at a reissue, but i think they're great.

And buy music for the love. Don't become a collector who judges good records from how much he got them for.

Keep sampling of youtube, you dont have to do it the way everyone else does. On youtube search for: beatbox, drums, and other stuff like that.

there are lots of music blogs that put up a track a day/week. plus plenty of dj mix downloads easy to find.

BUT 2 BE AN PRODUCER/ BEATMAKER... ISNT IT THE POINT TO FIND SUMTHANG THATS NEVA BEEN PLAYED WITH OR AS I THOUGHT, MAYBE IMMA OL SKOOL MIND... UNLESS UR NEW ( GREEN ) OR YOUNG.... BUT THAN AGAIN, YA CANT KNOCK THE HUSTLE... JUS BE ORIGINAL

my recommendation is hit a record store with a record player that you can listen to the records.

im not saying you should buy vinyl,

but...when i was at a loss for artist and material, i just picked out records and listened to them,
thats how i got a taste of labels and artist and producers.

its not a bad idea,
