yeah so i just bought a mpc 1000 off ebay. i wanna hook it up to my laptop and use reason or protools. it didnt come with any cords or anything so could anyone explain to me what cords i need? i bought a usb cable (waiting for it to come throught the mail). i cant even turn it on i guess i need a power cord for that, i tried googling all this but i couldnt find any answers. i figure you guys could help me

lol it was like 2 dollars free shipping from ebay so i was like **** it

but newayz what cords do i need to hook it up to my laptop? also why doesnt it turn on? like i said i just got it and have no info, tried googling but i just got tips on actually producing not this idiot shit that im talking about

welcome to the wonderful world of mpcs.

read the manual, cover to cover - it's available for download online, and is searchable.

also, use the search function on these forums. there is a wealth of information here that is easily accessible. as you can imagine, you're not the first to ask this question.

it's a good idea to bookmark and make constant reference to:

this explains the basics of music production and studio use and set-up.

-power cord - iec power cord.
-1/4 trs cables to get audio in and out of the mpc.
-usb cable to transfer files to and from computer/mpc
-audio/midi interface to hook up pro tools and mpc

i'd also suggest you install the jj operating system on your mpc.
