Really sorry to hear that bruh. i went through the same thing about 2 years ago but I have a good idea who it was. Sadly, Detroit police are really the wackest on theft jobs..any job for that matter. The first thing the police asked me was "is anyone hurt?" I should have said yes because it took them about 2 hours to knock at my door! I should have been like, "Officer down"; they would have showed up a lot faster!
Luckily for me, my insurance covered everything, but like you, my hard drive was gone with YEARS of beats. Don't let any of that dampen your spirit. New beats are always better. Since then, I've scaled back HEAVILY, and all I basically have is what I basically need. The MPC, turntable, and a DJ mixer, and most of it is old. I like it that way. I don't want to give anyone an idea to steal my schyt ever again. Even tho I'm 99% sure it was an ex girlfriend (she had a key, and the code to the alarm, no forced entry, alarm deactivated, plus I broke up with her earlier that evening) I'm still VERY weary who I let into my house. Most people are opportunists, so don't let anyone know nothing. I turn a TV/ radio or a light on when I leave the house. Get an alarm. An ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure. If they really want it, their gonna get it, but make it a little difficult for em, and trust me, them same kats are probably gonna be by your side talking about, "Damn yo..I can't believe anyone would do this to you!" Write certain kats off from now. You know who ain't 100%..we've all got a few shiesty friends who associate with them grimy dudes. Leave em all alone. The economy is jacked up..anyones studio will pay a few bills right about now.
Keep ya head up! If the insurance covers it, it may just be a blessing in disguise!

I'm sorry to hear of your terrible misfortune.

Living here in NYC, I was robbed a few years back and they took some music EQ(not much), BUT made sure to take my hard drives as well. The reason I didn't lose my mind is because I had EVERYTHING backed up on DVD-R's. PHEW! A lesson I will always adhere to.

I hear that online backup is pretty safe, although I haven't tried it personally, maybe it's something to look into. Just an idea.

I hope you more than make up for your losses.

Take Care.

Sorry to hear that. Never let shady folks into your crib. And if you have shady friends, that means don't let your friends in the crib.

An idea though -- have some friends go over to the other friends' houses and see if your stuff is around somewhere. If they see it, have them call you on the cell with a code. Come over, bum rush the place, get your stuff back. Sometimes it's just gotta be like that.

Sorry for your loss. Painful years ago my apartment was broken into three times. So I know how much hurt you feel. Most of equipment was replace. As a matter of fact someone on my job took my 32gig Ipod touch, out of my call last week. In my eyes, everyone is guilty of going in my car.

And furthermore, anybody that would stoop this low to steal from others to gain some sort of personal benefit, is the lowest as low can get (gutter in other words). That's right...scums...scrotums!

I would love to unload a few rounds in a sucka caught red handed. I do make it a practice to leave a cartridge or two laying out for everyone to see, just to make a point.

And for those that don't know...what comes around, goes around...which means, at some point in time, they'll get their just.

I got cleaned out my damned self several years ago. Remember that Dj Quik line "they thought I was gonna play the front row, just because my equipment got stole". They stole both my 1200's, all my vinyl, a Rane mixer and some other assorted sh1t. The crazy part about it was, earlier that evening, a coworker totally unrelated to the ex roommate told me to move my gear back to my mom's house. :? I get home that night and well  I'm pretty(flowers it-damned sure) my ex roommate had something to do with it, but oh well, I manned up and took that L and worked my ass off for three more months to save up for some new gear.

Karma's a ****. They'll get theirs. I had some beats (on CD)stolen from me once. I get a call from my manager and he says hey, I think I know who took your beats. Sure enough he directs me to this guys soundclick page and he has MY BEATS up for sell!!!!! I called my lawyer(beats were copyrighted) and had him call an scare the SHIT outta the guy. 2 weeks later I get the beat CD's in the mail with an apology letter begging me not to sue haha So ALWAYS copyright you're beats, or at least you're best ones.

Do you live in an apartment, also do you have a maintenence man, do you live in a neighborhood with a lot of kids!

Things that make you go HMMMmmmmm!

If someone gets past My motion lights, My security system, My german shepard, My GLOCK 40 22, MY GLOCK 40 22c, And last but not least my Nosey Ass Neighbors (I Love Them), THEY CAN HAVE IT!

But still, you always have to be skeptikal about who you have around you and your stuff. I got this one guy in perticular that I use to deal with, one day he showed up with some cats that I've never seen before, So therefore I did not answer the door and the next time I seen him I got in his ass and told him do not ever do that again.

Think about it, how many people do you know that might have a nice setup like you(the person reading this), There are a lot of jelous/envious people out there that want what you have but are not willing to work for it. So take proper precautions to protect your equipment 1; Do not try and be the nighborhood hot shot by showing all of your boys what you have. 2; Document all SERIAL NUMBERS (It only takes a couple of minutes) 3; Do not tell anyone when you are going out of town, but also have someone that you can trust stay at your crib until you get back, or move your equipment to somewhere safe, I know it can be time consuming but better SAFE than Sorry. 4; Last but not least, Get some GOT DAMN INSURANCE ( It only cost pennys a day).

I hope you get your stuff back.

Also check all of your local pawn shops DO NOT CALL THEM! (They are shady). Go and see if you see any of your equipment in the shop. Because if a Pawn shop buys Merchandise that ends up being stolen, They have to turn over the merchandise and the identity of the person that pawned it to the POLICE.
I know this from personal experiance, I had a CD player stolen out of my car and a couple of weeks later I Saw it on the shelf of the local pawn shop, went home to get my box to see if the serial number matched, IT DID. the little F*<ker that was working try to sell it back to me for $40.00 and asked me not to call the Police. I Called the Police and they took the unit and I got it back a couple of weeks later.
