ASR10 has a function called "Bi-directional" looping.

It's plays forward then plays backwards then plays forward again (like a ping pong ball) forever however long you want it to keep going and you can set start/stop and loop points on it.

Thats it Lampdog. I was just wondering because a lot of older samplers had this feature, and for some reason it disapeared. The 1k has it in the JJ version (which I like to think I had an influence in adding). So I take it the 2000 doesn't have this?

That sounded complicated. :P

I guess my technique takes time, because you don't know if you've found a good loop point until you've gone through all the steps. One good tip for ping-pong looping is to loop at the max point of the waveform, and not at the zero crossing - much easier to get a glitch-free loop.

yep

You'd have to sequence it in, w/ 2 samples, 1 forward and 1 backward.

I never thought of it like that. Thats a great idea. I always thought of copying and pasting, but this way you could still adjust the loop point... Thanks Lampdog...

Yep, I've done it before, glad you see what I was getting at.

There's a way around almost everything, within reason of course.

Just gotta get them brainswaves flowing.

when i used to use a 2000 i think i would do it like this: copy sound, reverse section, insert sound into section start. a similar method works on the 60 too.
I think this is less hassle than sequencing if your using short sounds (e.g. snare hits) cause its easy for gaps to appear where you dont want them because it isn't sample accurate like pasting it in.With Long sounds i can see how sequencing would work though.
Ive used this method for years on my emu sampler to make short drum sample chops longer.
