Since most of you guys are long time MPC users im sure you guys can pretty much determine how long it usually takes for Akai to come out with a patch release, could you guestimate how long before an functional 5K update? Does the second update usually fix most major problems? Does Akai pay attention to our 'Bug Reports'?

P.S. I hope one will be released by the time i get mine.

if the nukai is as same as the old akai, you can expect an os update in about 6 months to a year

The MPC 2500s first OS update was within 5 months after its release, I believe. So I hope we can get an OS Update within 3-4 months.

Hopefully if we make enough noise, we can put the pressure on Akai to pull their finger out. JJ can fix bugs in a matter of hours...

I just meant that if JJ can fix MPC OS bugs in a matter of hours, surely it shouldn't take Akai 6 months to come out with an OS update, even if it only addresses some of the outstanding issues. IMO, fixing outstanding bugs in their flagship product should be A1-Priorty.

Wow, yall really make it seem like Akai likes to take there precious time on making there customers happy. I mean even if they released several updates only fixing a couple of problems at a time would be good. But 6 months? Holy Jesus, Joseph, and Mary!

What's worse is that when they do release an update it fixes a few minor issues here and there but leaves critical flaws untouched. The file formatting/corruption issues that plague the last three MPC models is a prime example. Akai has been told over and over yet they do nothing about it, update or no update. JJ fixed it on the 1000/2500 years ago.

Does anyone wonder if the reason Akai can't seem to find a decent coder to deal with these issues has something to do with first short-changing then later openly defaming their last (and now proven competent) software contractors?

I cannot imagine why anybody who is familiar with Akai's track record would want to invest in their products, especially the most expensive ones.

There is no other product on the market that does what I want like an MPC. This is the reason why I have an MPC 5000 which was a replacement for my 2500 (which I used for 3 years).

Yeah, I'm not to familiar with Akai's track record but I have been playing around with saphtware programs for a while now and even tested out the roland MV serious a bit. None of it seems to have what I need like the MPC. Thats why I want one and I want the (soon to be) best! ... Were the hell is JJ!
