REASON NN-19 OR NNXT?

I would definately go with the NNXT there are so many nice little tricks
you could do with it it also plays samps backwards and forwards not only that you could rig the Gate to a Malstrom.

You also can make a drum samp or a cymbal turn into synth sound
I've been using Reason since 2000.

You may want to get some cleaner samps other than the Factory
sound bank too.

Well industry norm right now is the MPC, but in todays studios there is also a computer in the configuration. Like i said before between outboard gear and software there are so many different configurations you can come up with. We should keep our creative doors open and find a use for having a NN-19 and a NNXT in a program. Ok kiddies, it is time to get to work and i am going to throw everything into this one. QUESTION: Should i use NUENDO, CUBASE SX, or CUBASE 5 for tracking. Man i might as well throw in some ABLETON LIVE. LOL!!!!

yo shai, clown who is a clown. i think you have your M(s) mixed up i am Mark not your Mother. first off if you have a top of the line computer you do not have to worry about ram and memory. how long have you been making music (a week or two)? let see how good you are making beats. next time you power up your mpc turn off the quantize and make a beat with some swing (not using quantize swing). now how does it sound? do you need quantize or swing quantize? if yes, i have wated my time answering your post because you can not even keep the beat. so, again i own a mpc and know what it is capable of and my laptop setup can lap my mpc in a 100 yard dash everyday. if your mpc is the center of your studio you are pretty much a beginner. wet behind the ears. so i would subjust that you get alittle music background before you call someone you do not know a clown.

what other drum sequncer/drum sampler has you personal use for an extended period of time? or are you just talking because you have a mpc and now you feel like you are down/hiphop producer? have you program with cubase or reason or any other sequencer. have you ever heard of a linn drum machine?

anything you can do with your setup i could do with reason. no problem. it may take a while to program the sounds in reason but it can be done (not with the factory sounds). i have samples glorie. yes i think I could do it with reason. by the way with my other soft synths the game is over.

Well I could cook a better pork roast then both of you,lol But really it comes down to preference, Im damn sure someone out there using only hardware could blow anyone of your beats outta the water, and the same is true for someone using software. Again in reality it comes down to what u want to use and what u feel comfortable with. Some people arent down with using a computer in their setup me I use a hybrid of everything just another tool. Bottonline you could have all the Hardware or software in the world and your shit can still be wack as hell if you not freaking what your using the right way man. We all got one thing in common we like to make music does it matter how we make it?

ok, i feel i could go to any studio (hardward or software or live) and get my sh*t off. i am a MUSICIAN. the software and hardware are tools to make music. i could lay down a drum groove on a real drum set, lay down a funky/r & b/ rock/jazz bassline with a real bass, add some live guitar and then add live keyboard part (piano, epiano, organ, pads). the one thing i can not do is a better than decent solo (except for the drum part). the midi sh*t is only a tool. it is the person behind the tools that count (that being me). for all you critics, what is your musically background? how long have you played a intruments. if it was not for midi would you make music? i would, i prefer playing live. how many studio hours have you logged? how much money have you made making music? what is the most people to come to your performance? i played drums for benard wright on the budwiser summer tour in stadiums. 50,000 screaming fans. what is your resume. who is the nicest musician that has been in your home? so, if you only been making music for 10, 15, 20 years you do not have the experence that i have. period. so, i am talking from experence and not from my @ss.

the best thing about the mpc is that you guys stick together when i comes to the machine. which i think is cool but if you only making music for 5 or 10 year and no formal music training you could got hold my ... (you fill in the blanks).

anyone in the nyc/nj area lets get together and make a beat and you can see first hand what i am talking about. by the way, i will be going to st. thomas this weekend to play with bobby mumprey (flutest) at the st. thomas jazz fest. marcus miller on bass, bernard wright on keys, nick muroch on guitar and eddie martinez on guitar.
