hi avid mpc users and abusers. i have just recently purchased mpc1000 blk which thankfully had the new pads. i have upgraded the ram to 256 kingston value ram from ebay for £13 and the HDM-10 hd fitting from ebay for £25. havent got the hard drive as yet as im tryna figure out how much i will actually use for storing samples.was thinking 100gb is way too big for just samples, maybe something like 60gb max.what do people think?

so i installed the free jjos update. when i tryd to format the cf card and the internal hd to get rid of all stock samples and sequences i got 'sytem error' can any 1 help me with the correct procedures? followed evrything in the manual but i was woundering since i tryd to do this after i installed the jjos will the precedure be different. please shed some light.

Check the sticky on HD compatibility and find the size most cost effective. I have 60 gigs in mine and thats good enough. Make sure you back it up to your PC hard drive at least once a month.

cheers prime.was looking through topic and i think im gona go for the 60gb hd.all my drum samples that iv collected come up to about 8gb.would be nice to know that i can have all my samples stored ready to be used all from within the mpc. was looking at the comparison chart for the jjos's. jjos 308 seems to have a max of 24 programs and the latest jjos has 99. surely isnt this number dependant on how much ram the mpc has installed?
would like to know the max amount of programs people hav used at any one time with 128ram installed?

I threw a 120Gb drive in mine... all of it is usable, and works nice.
