Ability to save the filter mode.

Ability to edit the slider data in sequence edit (pitch, volume and filter).

Ability to increase and decrease data in sequence edit (etc. go from 5% on step one to 95% on step three, then it would automaticly create a data ramp in between).

Ability to go into and out of trim mode without stopping.

Ability to go in and out of record mode without stopping.

Be able to save the filter sets in a sequence.

And Im aiming high for this one but if the 500 had this feature it would be deadly. =)
Chop Shop with the sound wave on the screen.

It's easier just to make three pads with the same sample, then set LP on the first pad, BP on the second and HP on the last. ;-)

I'd like to see added -

1) A filter envelope

2) Ability to trigger sample recording from a midi note

3) Ability to adjust the volume of an entire program, instead of just each separate pad. This would save a lot of trouble when using multisampled instrument programs.

4) 1/64 note time correct in sequencer + triplets, to save a few of us having to double the tempo.

chop shop + the ability to use 32+gb compact flash would make me the illest producer.

and nobody has yet to tell me what the chopshop feature in the new os is for. i'm glad to see at least the name chop shop even mentioned in the os update at least.

multi-timbral capability (each MPC track can respond to MIDI messages on seperate MIDI channels from an outboard sequencer)

and that whole track volume thing.

and better pad sensitivity, if a hardware mod isn't figured out.

As for new features, I need for live:

> because of the very small printed track-numbers under the display, it would be very helpful, the track mute symbol would be the spezific track number instaed of the "M" in the track-mute screen [1 . . 4 . 6 . . . 10 . 12]

although this has been mentioned before....some type of ChopShop. USB'ing to the computer, copying and pasting to a folder, safely removing n all that, IS A LONG waste of time for me. I just want to be able to chop it and assign it they play it....which is why i'll probably be upgrading to a 1000/2500 sumtime next year...

all good ideas, some seam too hard though... like to see waveforms. i would love though if they also had track volume, that would help tremendously.

only question about the new filters is.... how will it come up with old songs that already had filter settings. will it automatically put it as lowpass or what?? and what about slider settings, now it has to add the other filters also... how about wen we load up old songs that had those settings saved also?

as for my ideas...

*would b awesome if they can substitute the "F#" buttons from other mpcs into this one, like shift+pad11 is trackmute, and shit+pad12 is tracksolo, etc. unless it can already do it and i dont know. ?

*also, if it can timestretch a sample instead of 100% to 120% etc., it can also stretch it from bar 1.1 to 2.1 etc., in that way it fits perfect from where we want it to start and stop. (is that what chopshop does caus i dont know what that is)

*some type of grid edit would be an awesome feature, but then that would be like asking to see waveforms... at least waveforms might be easier to do. in that case get a mpc1000 and up for the screen lol

***a lithium battery that fits in the battery department as 6aa's!!! i would definitely buy.... imagine it lasting 10 hours with backlight on?!?! but thats hardware, not an operating system problem lol

*sequence editing - data ramp is an awesome idea eimer.

*and the track mute mode showing the track number muted instead of M is awesome Mr.T

i really hope akai reads this and takes notes
