you are SO lazy. i dont know why im doing this. anyway.

go to a site like this

http://www.the-breaks.com/

and grab some artists names

then use some horrible software like soulseek/limewire etc and steal their music - If you insist....

Are you SURE there are no record shops in russia? maybe try sampling something other than funk and soul - surely theres russian music out there from the 60's and 70's that can be cut up and flipped....?

good luck with chopping up shitty low bit rate badly recorded mp3s, im sure you will find it endlessly satisfying.

edit: disclaimer: i in no way advocate the use of p2p and illegal downloads.

My thoughts exactly.

Kreat, i know of people in Russia with plenty of good funk & soul records because i've sold them stuff over the years, the excuse that there are no records to sample is bullshit. There are plenty of groovy Russian records as well.

Personaly i will not sample from mp3 or internet, i only sample from vinyl because i'm a digger, like alot of people on here. Maybe that is being short sighted, maybe i'm making life difficult for myself, maybe not, but thats the way i think it should be done, i guess alot just depends on what sound your after.

Put the ground work in, do the knowledge, get dusty fingers and earn respect rather then rolling up on a website and taking samples of it.

That's straight up bullshit. I've heard of people finding incredible ish in Russia. Not to mention the fact that you,ree in Europe and have access to a lot of Euro Jazz, and much more.

Here's partial proof that there are records over there:

So? 2/3 's of it is practically inhabitable or empty. Anyways. It shouldn't be an excuse for not finding records. In the end people are gonna sample Mp3's so there's not much we can do about it. All I can say is that there should be plenty good records over there. Obviously you might have a little more difficutly finding them bu they're out there.

Its not a continent in itself

it spreads over two continents, Europe and Asia

and personally i dont think it matters whether you sample from vinyl, tape, mp3, CD, MD, 8 track or watever

as long as you flip it nice, what does it matter?
