[b]***SAVING ISSUES***[/b]

Peace.

Normally i save my beats by *entire memory* this is the only way i know to do this with the seq/sample/midi info all being saved....but i tried something new *STUPID..VERY STUPID*

-i saved a program set and named it (....lets just say i call it ILL DRUMS)....for a certain beat (SEQ CALLED ILL)that i was doing thinking that i can pull up the program ONLY for later because i liked the way i eq'd the drums and shish....

...now the problem is that whenever i save anything new *entire memory* and go back and try to load the new beat (SEQ FUNKY)
...It comes up with the ILL program and seq ILL EVERY &%*^$$ time.


I lose everything that i prev did...it only saves the sample and a when i look into program...it list the name of the new sample that i assigned to the pad with a f***k'n question mark by it and no dam sample.

does anyone have a better way to save your songs cause this is driving me crazy....i lost 3 f****k'n beats this way....all im left with now is the samples of any new beats without my drum patterns....

by the way when i make a new beat i start fresh and dont even have my memory card loaded...i have my MP for about 4mo and it has never done this crap before.

just create one separate folder ofor each track that you make, and the pain will go away.

No, I don't expect any checks from Akai, I just help ppl so that the MPC family can grow bigger. So, yeah you can hit me with your e-mails. I'll try to anwer them if I can.

Anyways, the way I save my stuff is basically the following:
- I make one folder for each track
- I save all programs & samples, once my programs are set
- Then I save All sequences & songs
- If I modify the sequence, I save again as All seq & songs, but I give it a different name. That way I always have a backup, just in case.

yea...i feel you on that....it really is more of a personal box.
