This is outta sync for a MPC forum, but yes. The iBook can use Pro Tools. You'll need either a MBox (USB) or Digi002 or 002R (FireWire). You need Digidesign hardware to use Pro Tools.

Check at the Digidesign User Forum at www.digidesign.com for some serious info.

Peace and welcome to Mac World.

you can definitely use the ibook g4. I recommend a dual processor, and
at least 867mhz. get as much ram as possible, 1 gig is nice.
mbox-2 inputs
001- 8 inputs (discontinued but can find on ebay)
if you want to spend more than 600 bucks get a 002

Teh Wei;
He can't use the Digi001 on an iBook. The 001 needs a PCI slot. Only the 002, 002R or MBox can be used on an Apple laptop, as these audio devices use either Firewire or USB.

Good luck all.

Peace.
