what are your criteria for picking tracks for a mixtape? from a producer standpoint, i.e. based on the beats, not the mcs.

For me, it's a 2 way street. I balance whats hot and makes the people bounce with what I like.

With all the acapellas and instrumentals out there, you can always remix a track even if the lyrics are wack... and vice versa.

i agree with RonDu^^ i 've been spinning for twenty years , i mostly play oldschool tracks , hiphop , club ,dance, funk, disco,.

you got to play something that sparks up nostalgia,

i play mostly underground stuff, stuff with a good beat to make you want to dance.
